Gorgeous right??!! It’s insane. Check out the rest of the goodness here and get ready to drool: http://pinterest.com/kitschycupcakes/tiffany-blue BTW, I would totally make a trip to London JUST to go to a Cath Kidston shop (pictured). It would be one of the best days of my life. No joke.

TGIF!!!….well almost

Happy almost Friday everyone! We made it. Woot! My hubby should be on a plane from Charlotte right now, my baby is asleep in my bed, and I’m eating Lucky Charms, drinking pinot and watching “Sweet Home Alabama”. I know, gross right? Actually, it’s really good. I did eat the cereal before I started with the wine. I love this movie. It’s really so sweet. Anyway, just thought I’d stop by and say hi. Anybody have big plans for the weekend? I plan on doing absolutely nothing for a good part of the day tomorrow. I’m hoping I can sleep in a little bit. That all depends on the little one. He had a big day today, so I’m thinking the chances might be pretty good. Then of course Saturday is The South of the James Market . Such an awesome market. I’ll be there from 8-12. My big sis Melissa will be keeping me company. I’m really looking forward to it.  Ooooh, Greg from Blue Goo Studios will be coming by this weekend too! Super excited for that! Greg is an extremely talented local photographer. His work is amazing! He has so graciously agreed to photograph my caramels. He has some great ideas. I can’t wait! Ok, I’m gonna go drag my butt to bed. Sleep tight you guys. -S

on procrastination

I don’t get it. I’m 30 years old. I’ve known myself for 30 years and I still don’t get why I ALWAYS wait intil the last minute. It doesn’t matter how big or small the task. Laundry, cleaning, gift giving, whatever. I was at home ALL day yesterday. I had the entire day to produce an insane amount of caramels. This is what I did instead. Well I actually did do some laundry, but then I went grocery shopping, cleaned out the fridge, and then spent almost the rest of the day messing around online. Which would be fine if I was actually getting work done online. Nope. I aimlessly wandered the pages of Etsy and Pinterest, tagging things that made my heart patter. Throughout the day I took breaks to play with Jack, change diapers, make dinner, etc. But I pretty much wasted the whole day. Now here I am at 6 in the morning sitting in the kitchen waiting for two huge pots of sugar to caramelize. Hmmmm…I don’t know if I will ever learn. Can any other procrastinators sympathize? What is the deal yo??!!

we all need a little help every now and then

Morning all! It’s a gorgeous day today in Central Va! Well, it looks gorgeous anyway. I’m sure as soon as I step outside, the thick of the air will practically choke me. Summertime in Virginia is not very glamorous. It’s pretty much miserable. But we try to make the best of it. Anyhoo. I have my beautiful niece Caitlyn here at the house for the next few days. Hubby is out of town, and Caitlyn is gonna help me hold down the fort. Translation: she’s gonna help with my very active 2 year old while I try to get some things done. I have the Huguenot-Robious Farmers’ Market tomorrow. So much preparation needs to be done for that. I’m also hoping to sneak in some time to test some new caramel flavors. I’m really anxious to broaden the variety a bit. Butter Rum caramels are already in the works. I’m just patiently awaiting approval from all of the official government offices. Now I’m thinking I must add something of the nut variety. Yum! Cashews, or pecans..who knows. I’m drooling just thinking about it. Oooh, on the subject of goodies and food. My sister and I went to a Pampered Chef party last night. It was my first time. I have to admit, they do offer some pretty nice kitchen gadgets. Although I really went with just one thing in mind. I am in desperate need of really large glass pourable bowls or measuring cups. And they had some killer ones! I bought two of these bad boys. I love them! They’re huge and have covers! You have no idea how badly I need these. I just wish I didn’t have to wait a couple of weeks to get them. I suppose I’ll live.
